Starting any business is hard, yet alone starting a business in a challenging developing market, and then pivoting that business to become a technology driven digital company. I have had the good fortune in my career to have had two opportunities to develop
successful fintech and digital companies in South East Asia, and I would have to say they have both been the most fulfilling professional experiences I have had.
Along the way, I have also worked in roles such
as digital transformation in major banks, developing new products in large payment companies and even worked as an advisor for development organisations on their fintech investments. As I have been involved in all of these roles, I have
seen firsthand the positive impact fintech and digital companies can have on financial inclusion in some of the most challenging countries on the globe.
I started Blue Lotus Partners because I wanted to help companies grow and scale, and hopefully learn from some of the mistakes I made along the way, and from some of the successes. The blue lotus was a powerful symbol for me as
in Asian culture it is revered for it’s ability to grow in the most difficult of conditions, and emerge as a symbol of great beauty and resilience. When I consider the challenges that most founders have in scaling their businesses, resilience
is a powerful asset.
